Description
This poster is designed and illustrated for the play “Guidance for the Young Generation”, ordered by the “Plato Theatre group” to present in the Tehran City Hall Theatre. The play has a comic sense, demonstrating both young and old generations in a single space, showing how they cannot get along with one another!
Process
The play “Guidance for the Young Generation” is the story of three youngsters with an elderly woman on a train, traveling to nowhere! The whole play happens on a train cabin, and has a pinch of comic spice. The old lady tries to advise the young group, and all the conversation which goes nowhere is funny. The first image came to my mind after reading the play was a surreal picture of a girl with her suitcase looking come from another planet. When I drew and showed it to the Plato group, they liked the idea. The process contains pencil drawing, then developing it in Photoshop as appears in process images on the right. When I was working on the sketch in Photoshop, I added some colours to it on an old fashion paper, illustrating new generation in classic frame. Later, I changed it to greyscale to check how it looked and I was satisfied with result. This image in black and white has more words that coloured!
