Description
This is about an awareness campaign happening on Earth Day in 2017. It’s an outdoor festival welcoming families and children. Tree planting, fun games, healthy foods using Earth friendly, disposable dishes and cutleries are all comprised in this event. There will be live music and all sorts of fun activities for everyone to enjoy.
Process
Since the event is held for families to take part with their children, I was thinking of an idea both related to the Earth and children. This poster is designed to portray Earth’s purity to promote a clean and healthy environment. By using the image of a sleeping baby, the importance of having and maintaining a pure and green earth for future generations is conveyed. Furthermore, the dark colour used, along with the frame around the earth and baby image is to portray a sense of urgency, an imminent or approaching danger to future generations if the issue of a clean and green environment is not taken seriously. The colour pink is used because, similar to the circular shape of the earth, both pink and circular patterns signify femininity and motherhood in visual arts theory – an important aspect of ensuring successfully bringing up future generations. The whole project including the illustration has been done in Illustrator.
